I made a sweet one for my dads old S4 in 15 min. It was a just a prototype. A simple wood board with two holes for the headrests post to go through. Then I used the mount off of a tripod on the other end.

yeah if you don't care about looks that would be a great way to go. you could always hide the board underneath the carpet as well. make the legs detachable from the board using plastic hardware you can find at lowes or home depot so that when you aren't using the camera it's all concealed. nothing short of easy but you could do it with some time and patience. wouldn't be too expensive either.

duct tape a camcorder between the 2 headrests , if you post pics of your amp rack, it would probably help...

We have one made for a small Sony cam! I'll get you a pic if you'd like. We don't have them listed on the site yet. Please PM me if interested.

i could try and mount it between the seat and the edge of the rack with a clamp or something...

I use a thing called the StickyPod. 4 suction cups on an aluminum base with a couple of extentions. You can stick it to the windshield, side window or in my case the T-tops. I've also stuck it on the side of the car and went for a drive up a curvy road. Also used it on my 4x4 and it was on the side window for a good 3 hours driving through the snow.

The thing we have has suction cups that stick to the windshield and it holds the camcorder down in between these two X pieces. Works pretty good!

If you have t-tops, you could probably make an "L" style bracket that attaches to the t-bar.
here is a quick drawing I made,

I dont kno about for long long video but this guy on here i kno has a nice camera that uses suction cups where ever he wants filmed, for instance. On the quarter panel filming the tires traction. On his back window outside the car. Its awsome. Thats would i would like cause it picks up all sounds etc

That attaches to the headrest. It would be a great way to get footage.

Their main site also has some great stuff for collecting car footage, they sell bullet cams, and mounting options.
