Prep work is a b*tch!

I've started prepping and priming the car, getting ready for paint. I'm hitting all the areas where there was 1) Chipped paint 2) Rust. So far, so good. I've also sanded down the daytona hood...next will be beginning to remove the areas in the fiberglass where there are stress cracks, and filling it back in with new fiberglass. This is probably only my second or so time working with fiberglass, so I hope it works out well. I'll just list a few pics of the progression.

Thanks! I can't wait to see it all one solid color...i've decided on a nice shiney black...with a red interior and all red on black badges. Should be sharp!

should go for a red stripe around the gfx too. Just think it would help compliment the interior/badges. How long till paint?

Do you mean right on top of the gfx? I think that would look nice also... i'd give a rough estimate of about two weeks before paint. Between work and the weather (I don't have a garage ) it's hard to find time to get work done.

so is that 2k primer your using or rattle can?

just an observation the red filler your using looks like ready to go out of a tube? is that correct? if it is its gonna blow your 2k paint job. you need compatable filler (2k). its the ones you mix hardener into before use.

maybe your ok just need more info before you get to far. if your doing a single stage paint the single step fillers should be ok.

All the areas that have the filler are already bondo'd. The filler had been put on to cover any tiny areas that were being difficult. Tell ya the truth, after the paint (less than a grand - the reason being.....) it's going on the market. It seems to be hard to sell a good running vehicle that is four different colors lol. So the prep work is minor and easy (spray can primer just to protect the areas that were sanded a bit too deep) and then POOF! its getting a price tag. Thanks for the tips though!
