ok, im considering doing the console swap in my 90 rs auto. i found a radio pod from a 86 TA and im looking for a 4th gen manual console (i won't have the shift pattern letters, but it goes in easier and still looks good) so my questions are......

1. the 3rd gen TA radio pod will mate up with the 4th gen console right?isn't this the look most go for?

2. all i do is take out my old console, put in the radio pod, then slide the 4th gen console over my ebrake and then push it forward til the holes in the console compartment line up right?

3. is there any difference in clearance/alignment in the 93-97 consoles compared to the 98-02 consoles considering the use of a TA radio pod?(still not sure which 4th gen console im gonna use)

4. will i have to do anything with my shifter as far as moving it over and such (i hear talk of this, but i think i read its ok if you have an automatic car and your using a manual console)

Will they even match to one another & dash.etc.Without pics i think the grain/width,height.etc would be a mismatch?not much help here i guess,sorry.

 

well from what i've read, the 3rd gen ta radio pods look better than cutting up my dash wherer the radio starts, and they just bolt/screw up to my dash (so i've read), and the manual 4th gen consoles are easier to install but you loose the shift patterns (i don't need them neways), so far the only ones i can find is a 98+ firebird w/auto matic console....i am thinking of takng the visors out of it, and maybe the rear leather seats (no fronts), but thats another topic........ne more help anyone???thanks again
