Rim/Rubber Sizes Advice.
I read the readme on how to strip/sand and refinish the IROC rims. I have stock 15" firebird rims, that are peeling, scuffed and just plain ugly. I like working on little projects like this, but if I'm goign to be taking them off for the time needed to complete this project, I'll need a set of wheels to get me aroun din the meantime... Maybe I should just invest in some new rims, and use the refinished firebird rim as winter wheels....
Anyhow, I came across an add for two 14x7" and two 15x10" mags, which look similar to a Cragar S/S wheel. Asking $500CAD obo. They are 'appliance' brand. What do you guys think? Would a 14/15" split look stupid on our cars? What about clearance for a 10" wide rim in the rear?

If anyone has pics of their thirdgen riding on wheels of this style, or pics of rims of different sizes... Please post them up.
As for rubber, what's a good bargain tire I'll be able to get in both sizes, if I were to get these bad boys?
I'll get on Photoshop here and see what I can do
Also, taking some pics of the wear and tear.... can this even be repaired?

I don't know if those rims would look so good on your car, especially in those sizes. They'd probably be better on a secondgen.

14" out front sounds like a bad idea for handling and will probably look bad.
10" wide on the rear is excessively wide for a 5.0 TBI.

Yeah those were my thoughts to. For $500 bucks, it's hard to find a nice set of steel in BC. Oh well. I'm going to try the surface remover and sandpaper trick on my stock rims... IS it alright to file a bit of the rash out? I'm figuring any small changes in rim balance can be corrected with standard tire weights...?
Anyhow, here's some pictures of the scars. And what my car may have looked like on those cragar ripoffs... ew!

Anyone riden on Falken tires before? I have my eyes on the Falken ZE512 and ZE502s. They look like a pretty good wet/dry tire for the money. I need something with good wet traction... Moving back up to Prince Rupert in a few days... I'll miss the Sun

Got some pics? Close ups of any damage, and what they looked like on your 3rdgen, if they were... might interest me a little more if you're just in van.
