you're not gonna like this, but the bolts that hold the mirrors on are located behind the door panels. And even once you get the door panel off , they're not the easiest buggers to get to either. I think i needed an extension and a u-joint for my ratchet to get to mine to tighten them. Removind the door panel isn't that difficult, you just have to take your time. The only part that is really difficult is getting the plastic retainer off of the top once you've gotten all the plugs out of the door. I managed to break one of mine last time... not a fun time.... good luck

crap

just what i thought,,im a good decent mechanic,, and i know better then to attempt this,, but i have not masterd the art of removing door panels lol, . i have absolutly no idea on where to find more lil plastic retainers to pop back in the door panal,, i realize i have limits lol , like when i try to do tinting on my own,,, me and tint just dont get along,,,,,,but pulling and rebuilding a motor no prob.hehe my thing is this i relize there is something to learn every day, i keep opend minded.. so ill leave the side view mirrors to some one who has lots of expiriance with door panels....i mean if it was a new out of the box thing it would be no prob but i hate it when those clips break there must be a sertain tool for the job... or is it like a gasket once you seperate the object you better have freah gaskets on hand cause there gonna rip and tear....,..

If you can rebuild an engine, you can definately do this... Just start at the lower left hand corner with a flat head screwdriver and gently insert it under the door panel. Slide the screwdriver until you feel it contact the first clip. From there i usually try and get my fat little fingers underneath on either side of the clip and gently pull, using my thumb to brace the plug from the backside... once you get the first one out, they all follow fairly easily
