Boyd Coddington Wheels

I put my Boyd Coddington wheels on today and the front is sitting really high. What would be the best springs to get this car where it need to be the Eibach Pro or Sportsline??????

is that he correct tire size? man is it small on there.....

pro kit is nice for a raked stance and so so ride. sportline is good for that slammed look and hard ride.

nice looking rims, just chcek you tires size it seem small. i have 245 45 17 frt so if i remember right it should be a 255 35 18
and 285 40 17 rear and 295 35 18 but i could be way off.

Have you moved the car since you set it down off of the jack??? On the second to last pic looks like the suspension hasn't settled yet. If you haven't moved it yet, back it up a few feet and then check it, It should lower it a bit as the suspension settles. If you have then you need to get lowering springs.

your tire size is right. just need some springs. depending on how you drive i'd go 2" drop with bilstein sports or the pro-kit with bilstein hd's. the tires do look very thin though for the stated profile.

I have NOT move the car since adding the wheels. I will look into some springs. Maybe it will settle down in a few day.... BTW all the parts on the front end is new except the springs....

did you index your springs in the front?? cause if you don't have the spring end covering one of the drain holes and the other end exposed, it could be causing a little bit of the extra height you're experiencing.

Nice... If memory serves me... Laser Red was the first factory production candy.... is it a metallic red basecoat with a translucent red mid/clear coat?

wow that is insane! what did it look like before?

Perhaps the spring index was off when you put the front suspension back together? Thats the only thig I can think of but the back seems a little to high too? That is really strange.

If you move it it might settle about a inch or so, but either way I think you would need springs either way.

I agree that you need to modify the ride height. The car isn't actually sitting any higher, its just that the much smaller sidewall of the tires gives it the illusion that it was raised higher. To bring it back to the fender to tire aspect ratio you are used to you will need to lower the car. 245/40/18 and 245/50/16 are very very close. Here's a pic of my Boyds, 18x8 front with 245/40/18 and some suspension work:

What suspension work was done to your car? Springs/Shocks...
I'm using KYB Gas Struts in the front....

Yup, if you cant afford AirRide or you want to retain the OEM spring/strut setup, this is the best way to get adjustable ride height (my opinion anyway). Front suspension of this Z28 consists of Ground Control weight jacks, a SSS 10" tall 700# linear rate spring, Beltech 2 inch drop spindles and Koni Special (reds). If you want more info on the weight jacks, check out this thread.
