fender removal/body plug issue

Ok people....what is the best way to get that upper body plug that connects the bumper to the fender off aka "the impossible bolt"....I tried prying, pulling, and twisting with vise grips....but to no avail.....and no I don't have a saw. I was fighting with that thing till 2:30 in the morning

I just replaced my bumper cover on my firebird last week. If you have a bird taking out the headlight assembly helps infinitly. I think that nut is 11 or 12mm, not sure. It was a deep well socket. I put a swivel (sp?) on that and then the rachet. Cup the socket and swivel with your hand to keep it on the nut and turn the rachet.

There was no nut on mine. That plug was a spot weld. Hacksaws are wonderful!!!
