Rain Rain Go away, Come again another day :(
So its been raining for something like 2 - 3 weeks straight, and variouis mornings (including today) I have found 2.5 inches of water on my backseat floor. I literally have to bail my car almost everyday.
I dont have 500 bucks for new T top seals
Just wondering....How screwed are my floor boards gonna be?Is my seat ready to just fall through cause of all the rust that could be coming???
Ack
and the smell.... smells like a pig with bad B.O. killed a cow and then killed its self in my car

Holy crap, Dan, you're a jerk. He didn't get 'owned,' he got pissed off cuz you made some stupid remark that didn't have anything to do with the thread and was pretty much just a personal attack. If anyone got 'owned' it was you for making yourself look stupid.
Why can't we all just be friends?
Your floorboards will probably be fine as long as they weren't bare metal and you did a pretty good job of cleaning all the water up. You gotta get everything out of that interior and dry it our or your car will smell like old man until you replace it (I would know).
Hawk's has your weatherstripping for $309. http://hawksthirdgenparts.com/inc/pdetail?v=1&pid=3115
Good luck!

The weatherstripping kit and t-bar (it will need to be replaced as well) will cost $ 448.95 plus shipping from Hawk's, so yeah I guess it is around $500. Do what's necessary first. The right way to build up a car is to fix first, mod second. You will hate driving the car if it has a new motor but smells like *** and leaks like hell every time it rains. Save up your money and buy those items from Hawk's, then spend a weekend or two getting it done. I split the job up into two weekends. The first day, I pulled off the weatherstripping and t-bar from the car (leave the t-tops alone) and cleaned it up nice. Day 2: install the weatherstripping. The next weekend I did the t-tops themselves. My car used to leak like crazy in the rain, and now I get maybe a drop or two out of a whole day of rain (just have to adjust the t-tops a bit). You will love the car so much more without leaks.

That my worry. The second I get the rest of my IROC gfx i wanna send it to paint. But I keep getting sidetracked with my stupid v6 and now weather stripping
Old cars are a pain, I know, but these things have to be done. There's no point in modding a car if it's not up to par with the way it was when it was new.
The t-bar does not need to be welded; it's held in by various screws and weatherstrip adhesive/caulk. This part SHOULD be replaced when you replace the weatherstrip, as it tends to rust on its bottomside. But if you think it's in good shape, you can probably clean it up and paint it with POR15 or some other rust stopper/sealer. You won't know until you take it all apart, so if it is in bad shape, you will have to go a few days with your t-tops off until a new t-bar arrives.
However, if you plan on getting the car painted, keep saving your money so you can install a new t-bar and weatherstripping AFTER the paint is done. This way, you can tear off the old weatherstrip and t-bar before dropping off the car and they can prep and paint that area to look brand new. This is definitely the best option.

i would rather have it rain every day and have to mess with a car cover, than fry every day with no a/c in 100+ degree weather having to wear black slacks and a shirt w/ a tie and drive 20 miles to work in the middle of the afternoon....just thought i'd share
ugh yeah Im with /\
I didnt drive the Z last week when it was 95+ with like 80% Humidity. The AC Works, but not nearly as well as my Focus...
I cant stand being dressed for work and sweating like hell... drives me nuts.
