what is this?

there is a hole cut out, under my dash-pad, more specifically directly under the 2 center a/c vents. all the way to the front. there are 2 screws, one on each side (like something used to be there.) and a little tiny light bulb is tucked up in there (it doesnt work).

is this just a dome light of sorts and i am missing a lens or whats the deal? thanks guys.

That little light lights up with the parking lights, and is made to shine down on the ashtray and the A/C controls to help you see them at night.

Sounds like you are just missing the little holder for the bulb.

I'm trying to customize my car in these areas.

I am replacing all the stock blubls and actually making them work. the stock bulbs were barely bright enough and after a while left them useless becuase the covers deteriorated.

I am adding more ultra bright LED lights in areas that could use them...
