Door + front fender = dent
I am getting my '92 firebird fixed up all pretty and repainted in about a week, but I have a problem I would like to clarify first. When I bought my car about two years ago there was no dent in my front drivers side fender. One day I noticed a dent, and since it has gotten wose. It appears that the front of my door(were it comes to a point in halfway up the door) is hitting the inside of the fender and pushing it out, causing a dent to form near the tire. My door isn't sagging any to my knowledge. I had a friend with an '86 Firebird who had this happen to him. Has anyone heard of this, and does anyone know what can be done to prevent it after I pay $3000 for body work and a paint job? Thanks.

Agreed. Try adjusting the fender first (much easier) then try the door. In all actuallity, it's probably the door that sagged. Check the bushings on your door hinges. Might be time for new ones. They may have compressed just enough to cause this problem.
