I have I believe Ford Probe or Focus or something similar window switches for my 4th Gen console and the schematic I got is not the same. I tried wiring the switch to the wires for the 3rd Gen window and no luck but alot of heat on the wires.

Here is the wiring on the three switches I have:

1. an oblong switch with U and L markings; 1-yellow/green pin
1, 2-purple/yellow pin 5, 2-orange/black pin 2, 1 black pin 4, 2-
white/green pin 7

2. an oblong switch with U and L markings: 1-yellow pin 1,
1 orange/yellow pin 2 also 1-orange/purple pin 2, 1black pin
4, 1-orange/purple pin 5, 1-white pin 7 also 1- white/blue pin 7

3. an oblong switch with arrows pointing up and down; 1-
white/purple pin 1, 1-purple/white pin 2, 1-yellow/purple pin
3, 1-black pin 4, 1-orange/black pin 5, 1-white/purple pin 6,
1-yellow purple pin 7

The wiring gauges on the first 2 are the same I am guessing 14 and 16, the 3rd is 16 and 18.

Ford switches, on your 4th console, hooked up to your 3rd gen wiring
this is only 1/3 thirdgen related, i refuse to help :P

#3 sounds like the pwr switch wiring from a furd contour which is what I have in my 4thgen console..



After destroying one of the 3 I bought.. this is how I wired mine. You can reverse where the + & - pwr in go but, the LED backlight won't work. The rear switches though, have 2 small 22-24ga wires seperate for the LED so you can wire them independant of how you wire the switch.
