Eventually I wanna pick up a set of hinge pins for both my car & my moms. But like everyone else $$ is an issue.

I'm scared to think about the cost of 4 sets, converted to CDN funds and then the cost of shipping, the potential hassle at customs & the BS that goes along with it.

Bought a new MEMCAL from GM for $125CDN, vs the $47 from gmpartsdirect. Worked out cheaper in the long run since I didn't have to go thru the hassle of shipping it to a US address & either having it re-shipped to me or running down & getting it

I have several customers from Canada that have their orders shipped to a Post Office Store in an adjoining USA State. The store holds it for them until they arrive to pick it up. As I recall it is something like $5 to pick it up there. I've done something similar. I'll have boxes of my product shipped to a UPS Store near my hotel when I'm attending a car show out of State. It is a lot less of a hassle than shlepping it through the airport.

Regarding a warranty, I don't manufacture the kits, so I can't warranty them.

Hey Y'all, I installed my kit tonight, and I gotta that I didn't realize how worn out my hinges were until I got them apart. I hardly had any of my old top bushing left! I went ahead and took off the fender and door to make it easier on me because I had to use a big grinder instead of a dremel tool to remove the top pins.

Anyway, the kit works great...door works just like new! Only bad thing is that my lower hinge was worn out so much that the new bushings have room to actually wiggle in the hole. I may end up getting that piece off of one of my parts cars to see if it will help.

IMO, the kit was worth the money for what it does...thanks Andy and Lon!

I agree with you Matt, I got my kit in Tuesday and put it in, and wow what a difference it makes.

This kit is really worth the price, way cheaper than buying a non-sagging door, having to pay someone to strip the paint and paint it and if they wear out again in 15-20 years, buy another kit and put it on, the hard work of removing the upper pins is already done.

I just think alot of people are afraid of getting in there with a grinder/dremel and take the old pins out without screwing something up, if you are careful, it goes like a charm.

 

You can do that???? damnit!!! i'm absolutely looking into that!

 

Yeah, I remember reading a post where someone has an address in Washington state just over the border at a place that does things like that where he has things shipped to.
