Reupholstering Bird Seats

I just bought ( On the 4th of July) a 1984 Firebird from my neighbor (Been passing that car for the last 7 years, finally decided to make an offer) I bought it from her for $250 bucks. ( I will get pictures soon) It needs a bit of body work, the left front fender and door and thecorner of the back fender. Right now it is dead in the woods We are systematically elimanating problems, This weekend we are dropping the tank. The Carb and Fuel pump is just not getting fuel at all (Yes there is gas in it ) But that's off the subject. While I am waiting on getting it running I redoin the interior, I decided on a suede light taupe color. Now I have redone a car before but never the seats. ( Did the dash last night) How do I go about doing them? I thought of cheating and just getting seat covers but EH I don't want to cheat.

This one is my bird and my Fiance who has an 82 trans am is bullying me to go with his colot scheme, pffft on him. I am painting the car "Fushia Kiss" from DuPont's Hot Hues and I want to also so something unique for some ghosting, I thought of blue with Dolphins but I fell in love with the Fuschia. Any ideas? NO FLAMES....my *** everyone who has a car around here has flames on it.

I think thats about it, I will post some photos of the car tis weekend.

Just did my seats with an upholstery kit from Hawks. Turned out really good and very do-able by the average shadetree mechanic. Does cost some money but these are foam backed actual factory type covers. Get different colors for the normal price. Check their web site at the top of the page.

I am planning on recovering my seats in vinyl. I already have one of the seats out and the cloth off of it. I am planning on making an exact pattern of the existing clothand going from there. Now i just need to get new hog pins.
