1988 GTA headlight problem
How do you know, if the problem is bushings or the motor? My passenger headlight tries to flip up. but stuggles, and the motor keeps running for about 6-7 seconds then shuts off. I checked the drivers side. There seems to be an adjustment for the headlight as far as the opening angle should be. I noticed that it is firm and adjusts to any angle i want and holds. The passenger adjuster/ motor just spins. and I can physically open or close the headlight when the switch is on. If it is the motor can it be rebuilt?
Any other info you can provide would be very helpful. Thanks,
Arne

Yep, sounds like gears. You can get a repair kit with new gears from TDS (one of our sponsors at the top of every page). That's what I did, works great!!!!!

I'm 99% sure its just the plastic pieces in the motor are eaten up. Its a cheap fix. Go to Top down solutions website.
This pic shows the dust that once was the plastic pucks that turn that nylon gear.
