You would have to come up with some way to get the air to enter the engine. They did this for the 82-83? Z28's. There was a whole elaborate setup used to get fresh air into the engine thru them...

ya the FAQ's said up to 84 Z-28s had the whole functional setup but everyone said that only 82/3's did. i guess either their right or my hoods not right

Even if i didnt have it ducted into my air cleaner setup wouldnt it still reduce the temps under the hood a bit?

I was lookin thru that stuff too. I read in another thread that the 84's had them too, but only on some cars. I am sure if you cut a hole in your hood it would help to lower under hood temps. There area probably better ways tho.....

I'm sure you could make it happen if you spent enough time with it. I happened to have an 82 SMC hood and it was already cracking, so I just cut out the vents, pic in my sig ...

ya thats pretty much what i want to do with my hood, i was just outside taking a look at it and if i cut out the holes they will be directly above the center of my air cleaner which isnt going to go along very well with the k&n xstream airflow top i ordered.
