How did you mount your custom autometer gauges ?

In chasing down an electrical gremlin last night, I pulled my gauge cluster and realized that its damn near irrepairable. That plastic sheet covering my high-tec copper wire/plate is severely damaged, and my fuel gauge has NEVER (atleast in the time I have owned it ) worked. Its time to build a new gauge cluster.

Using autometer gauges, and assuming you used the original front face plate, how would you mount the gauges?

Is the stock "cradle" behind the gauges used?

Better yet, if I picked up one of those gauge face panel's from Covan classic, what does it use to secure the gauges to that front panel?

If you want a whole new panel, you can get one from Covans Classics, i think they still sell em at summit. Im sure you could make your new gauges fit with your existing panel, but if you want to start from scratch, id look at the covans classics panel and see if those will work.

Do the panels have their own mounting brackets (if you buy the panel without the gauges) ?

to be honest, Im not sure. If I were to guess, Id say that the gauges should come with their own mounting hardware. But, I havent bought mine yet so I cant say for sure. If no one on here knows, Id call Scummit and ask them.
