How to make your braided hoses look nice at the end?

I'm replacing alot of my old worn out hoses with stainless steel braided ones since it looks better. The problem is the end of all my hoses just fray and look awful, is there any way to clean up the ends and keep them from fraying? Thanks!

are you using braided -AN line or the hose covers? If it's -AN, wrap some electrical tape tight around where you want to cut and use a bandsaw to slice through the hose. This will keep it from fraying while you put the ends on.

I take it you're not using AN fittings? Several vendors make aluminum hose clamp covers that look like fittings.

Right, these aren't AN sizes.

Thanks for the heads up on the fake clamps.

Car craft just gave a tip for this in the latest issue.Take a large chisel and sharpen it as sharp as possible. Then take your new shank and a decent hammer (5lb sledge) and cut the hose to length. They say it works very well.
