Tucking away for the winter

I need some advice on putting my car away for the winter, This is my first time ever seeing snow, Just moved to WI from FL. Putting it in a garage is not an option so it will just not be driving. What steps should I take to protect it as it sits? Will a car cover be enough? Should I use tarps? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

when I had mine outside for winters I got a quality cover NOT the 50 dollar specials from autozone/pepboys ect. I personally have the evolution outdoor cover thats fitted to the car, and just a bungie cord or strap so that it doesnt blow off.

Also get some stay-bil and fill your tank untill its full preventing any condensate from building in the tank, I throw in the stay-bil before fueling to mix it and gets into all fuel lines(on the trip home). Make sure all fluids are full, and give the car a good wash and wax, and interior cleaning as well (not a must but its nice to come to a clean car in spring)

I was also told to put an open bag of charcoal to lower the mosture level in the car (whether it works or not) and get a few fridge baking soda box's (it has a spill proof box) to help eliminate any oders that might come up.

As for tires im not sure maybe get those gardning pads or fill them up higher to prevent possible flats spots. and last but not least pull the battery and put indoors somewhere will it will not lose any charge.

As for during the winter months I usually would start mine up and let run for a while and maybe a trip around the block if weather permits once a month or so. And a suggestion by my old man was pull the injector fues turn the car over to build oil pressure after pressure is built its good to start.

Anything I missed fill her in.

Dave

this has been talked about many times, do a search and I'm sure you'll get a lot of info.

I found this in like 2 seconds: Storing car for the winter
