Can this seat belt be fixed?

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I am trying to fix a front seat belt retainer. When I slide the male end into it it wont lock, I have taken it apart and it seems like the part that is supposed to lock the male end is really tight (it wont freely move up and down). Do you have any ideas? I have posted a pic and the piece on the inside of the belt is the piece in question.
Thanks,
Lawrence

Believe the answer is in the sticky at the top of this fourm "seatbelt recall" Some folks fixed their own. It's one of the few parts of these cars I have not taken apart.

Good idea, but these are in great shape considering the retainer in question. These are for a resto and 4th gen belts just wont cut it.

I pulled these form a JY car, anyway, I fixed it. There was something lodged in the belt and I was able to take it out it works like new.
