Anyone ever buy some sort of carpet and cut it and shape it to fit in a thirdgen. I am interested in the possibilities and low cost methods. I am putting in a cage and dont want to pay like 150 for a new carpet just to cut holes in it.

Post up if you have carpeted your car without a pre-molded/cut carpet.

The transmission tunnel and rear seats pose a large problem for the front. The rear well is the problem for the rear. Its REALLY hard to do, but may be possible. I got front and rear carpets with minimal wear for $80 for everything I believe. After some vacuuming and shaking them out they look like an almost new carpet.

I have removed my carpet and thought about redoing it myself. You will have nothing but headaches and regrets. The carpet is MOLDED for a reason, TO FIT all the contours of the car. Trust me, you will be better off and happier finding used carpet or buying new MOLDED carpet.
