ok well I couldn't afford a glass hood so i bought a scoop.... that didn't work either, the scoop is flat and my hood isn't
So, ima gonna get a really cool breather and stick it through the hood, trust me I will make it look good. And the new TGO rocks!

I always wondered what that would look like. My friend and I have always joked about me building a "Buick F-body" and him building an "Oldsmobile F-body" Guess it would look something like this. Definately a good job!!

uhhh... i hate it... but i dont have to drive it either so as long as its in your driveway and not mine - then whatever...
i will say you did a good job making it look like it came like that... only question it leaves is why...
...and you might wanna ditch the part of the tail lights that says trans am and just black that out)

You know,I think a 91-92 z28 hood would look good,The hood just need a little something to break it up abit.and maybe a z28 wing to give it a little height in the back. The rear loks to narrow(top to bottom) for that front end.Looks awsome though.
Here's my old 87 with the z28 wing.

Re: My TransMaro is almost done!!
Hey y'all, the TransMaro blew a connecting rod, I'll get pics of that too. Funny thing it that it still ran, the rod was completely in half there are 2 dimples on the oil pan where it was slapping it everytime it came around but it didn't harm the cylinders or the crank or piston, I was fortunate. Anyways, I got some PM rods, maybe it will hold up to the 11:1 compression and all the other stuff. Plannign to go to Clay City to run a few passes in a few weeks, maybe theres a few locals that would wanna go and play with the rice burners?

The back section of a Firebird, does it just bolt up straight away to a Camaro, does anyone know ? I'm talking about the entire back piece, quarter panel section over T-tops etc

Re: My TransMaro is almost done!!
It doesn't unbolt. It's all welded. It would be best to swap over firebird fenders hood and front nose to a Camaro instead of cutting and welding Camaro rear panels to a Firebird(It would work but be time consuming and extra work). You'd probably have to change some things like the hood lock and some plastic panels too, but everything else is the same underthere.

Yeah, maybe that crackhead that still apparently has your camera is next in line?
Re: My TransMaro is almost done!!
I'm working on the same thing. I just acquired a 86 Trans Am and I'm gonna put a Camaro IROC front end. Do the fenders, hood, and bumper fit cause I just put a used hood and bumper on the tranny from a formula firebird.(besides ground effects issues)?

Re: My TransMaro is almost done!!
I can't stand the look of "transmaro's" no one does them right... the wheel wells are completly diffrent shapes. camaros are sharp and jaged looking t/a's are smooth and rounded, a true "transmaro" would have matching quarter panels but then after that whats the point?? all you have is a diffrent rear bumper, tail lights and side gfx.
I do love T/A's though i just dont think the camaro and trans am look good "frankenstiened" together.

Don't hate the car, hate the builder! Cause The builder doesn't give a damn
Well Yeah I still haven't gotten my camera back and well it dipped down way COLD and cracked the block, I was wondering why it took 5 gallons of fluid lol And I didn't ruin any car with this project, the Iroc Parts were from a wrecked one and the TA itself was pretty hashed to begin with, do ya think any sane person would take 2 Nice cars and hack em up?

Re: My TransMaro is almost done!!
i like it. i dont know that i would do it if i had the time and money but i am glad that some one did. the fender shape may be a little off but i think it still makes a sweet daily driver. another thing i like about it is that any one could do it. we are not looking at a $50,000 life time project. we are looking at a car that was built on a fairly modest budget in a home garage. keep up the good work.

I really like the way my big-block stinger hood looks and I think the hoods look good on the car and I also think u should do is what I did and put the 91-92 body kit on the car.

well this canadian blast of cold air got here and brought the temp down to about 20, god thats cold. And you are right creepingdeath, it was straight water in it, yes it was my fault, I know, I'm an idiot for not remembering. send hate mail to snakedoctor@insightbb.com lol Oh its got the IROC dash in it, that was chore to wire up

Atleast the fenders match
