My TransMaro is almost done!!
this is my transmaro, camaro from the front, 86 trans am in the rear, interior is from an IROC. The color is bright platinum metallic. It has a lot of goodies on it BUT the focus of this is to let you see my hybrid f-car, If you like it, say so, if you don't, you can say something but I really won't care, but I do need your opinions though. What hood would go best on this? I was leaning toward the big block hood.

i think it'd be cooler if you went with a 91-92 side gfx...and do away with the soiler/third brake light completely. that would look slick. along with a nice 2-3" cowl. like the one from www.championfiberglassproducts.com it's cheap too, only $300+shipping if i recall correctly.

nice job, verry few of these types of hybrids EVER look good. letalone match in color. you have taken this mod from "trailer park" to class. nice work
as for the hood.... as long as it is not a huge cowl i think anything would look good. you now what might be neat. a standard Maro hood with firebird style nostrils. would require fab work.... but it might be worth it.

So someone finally did it. And did it well.
Maybe an SS hood would work with the wing, and possibly the 91-92 GFX

ya know right after I got the gfx painted and installed I found a 91 with those gfx (the whole car) for 250. That's the way the cookie crumbles though, dern it! I was thinking about the ram air hood but whenever I see it on a car albeit trans am or camaro, those 2 bog nostrils IMO don't go with the lines of th rest of the car, but it looks so mean that I still lust after it, I think I'ma cut a camaro stock hood so my carb will fit through it and find a scoop that I like and put it on the hood. I did find a hood that I like but no one makes them anymore, unless one of my bretheren on this site can point me in the right direction heres a pic of it.

I think the car looks pretty good for a mix and match! I think the car would look perfect if u removed the spoiler and put the same hood as the black firebird posted last by NuBird.

I think a nice low-rise cowl would look good, no more than 2". I doo also agree the 91-92 gfx would look better, but that is just me.

lol do I as I did (see cardomain page) cut hood, weld on hood. Smooth hood, make fiberglass hood, install hood.
I dunno I think its pretty bad *** project I always thought that if you mixed the back end of a firebird with the front of a camaro it would look decent, and it does. However you need a custom hood, not one of the standard cookie cutter cowl hoods everyone has.

i think it could turn out well. my question is did you notice that firebirds and camaros have different fender flares. camaros are boxier and firebirds are smothed. any plans to go one way or the other. it noticiable to me looking at the pics. other than that nice job.

For some reason I do not like the hybrid f bodies, but, you did a nice job of it. I think that one looks best of all I have seen. You definately deserve two thumbs up on that.
As for the hood, I think a Ram Air 1 hood would look nice.

Looking at this abomination is kinda like when you can't stop staring at a morbidly obese person in the supermarket!
But...it IS the nicest Tramero I've ever seen, and I think a set of GTA wheels painted silver would really make it look nice. And maybe a late Z28 hood (91/92 style, I think).
Thanks for making me laugh!

In other words, lousy plan, but solid excecution. I hate the whole idea of homogenizing a thirdgen, but the quality of your work seems to be very good.

I like it!, I was thinking of doing the same for my car, but I already have a Camaro. I want to put a 91/92 GTA rear clip on it, and chop up the camaro and firebird rear bumper to make a camaro bumper with a license plate hole that has a lip on it to mate with the GTA tail lights.

what was it like when you bought it? was it a fresh rebuild? how many miles ago, or how many miles if it was not rebuilt? did it work out fine without any problems driving around on the street? thanks again. also, any info that might be helpful would be great. i only have a mild 350 (zzz 350hp/385tq, with full exhaust, 2x58 tb, k&n's, etc) but im a little worried about getting a t5 and cannot afford a t56. i dont drive the car hard at all.
Hey a little constructive criticism here, I think the idea is cool, but yeah I think you should have used the camaro ground effects front to back, and when you get to the rear bumper cover, you would have to take a mould of the stock one. Make a new one in extra thick fiberglass and reshape the ground fx portion on it to be like the camaro ground fx. However the downside to this would be if you back into anything even lightly your bumper cover is done for. However I do think this kinda setup would flow better than your current setup. However what is done is done and still looks pretty cool.

I could have used the camaro gfx, but not the aero ones. I like the TAs better because they came up on the body more and gives the car they are on more of an aggressive look About the nwc T5, it had about 50000 on it when I got it, the only problem I have with it is that they don't like to shift at upper RPMs, I have been somewhat aggressive with it ever since I got the car on the road and its holding fine. I am pleased with it, I think the problem is with most of them is that people put them in their cars after being used by a few ham fistied hotrodders and then put them in their cars and after a couple burnouts it pops out of gear and such. From my research if you blueprint them, not just rebuild, they will be more durable. Mine must have been built on a wednesday, you get a monday or friday car people aren't really ready for work yet

yea i know!
How about a regular camaro hood with the TA vents on the side and front of the hood or a power bulge like the Formulas? In other words make a camaro hood look like a TA hood or Formula hood. That will continue your hybrid theme.
