Fender Replacement Help

I'm replacing my front right fender on my 88 RS. The old fender is all unbolted except for right behind the wheel well. I think it is attached to the rocker panel but i'm not sure. From the underside of the car you can see the bottom of it and it looks like a rivit with 3 small holes in it and the bolt coming through the center. i cannot find anyplace to get in and find the other end of this bolt to unscrew it. Anyone know what i'm talking about?

You are talking about the side where the fender meets the door right? If so you need to remove the sideskirt first, then undo the nuts that holds the fender to the chassis. For the 88 year, I believe the screws holding the sideskirt to the fender are behind the badge on the sideskirt, you have to remove the badge to get at the screw (no bracket there like 91-92 GFX). Then once thats out of the way and the sideskirt is not in the way, you'll have to go from under the car and undo the nuts holding the fender to the chassis, I think there are 2 or 3 of them. Its not a normal nut either, but a ratchet and socket should be all you need. Alot of cars have damage/rust in that area. I know for two of my cars I had to use vice grips to bend the metal tab the fender attaches to back into the right angle to undo the nuts/bolts.

i already removed the sideskirt, and i have all the bolts off except for the one. you can see the threads coming through which leads me to believe there is a nut on the other end but i cannot find out how to get to the other end of it. the end thats visible from beneath the car there is just a round washer looking thing with the bolt coming through it, i cannot turn the bolt because it is round though. i will try to take a picture and post to show you what i'm talking about.

figured i would follow up on my post in case anyone else runs into the same problem. on the underside of the car, beneath side skirts, behind the wheel well there was a funny round washer type bolt that would not turn. it turns out that the metal flap that usually bolts the fender to the body horizontally was bent up beneath the ground effect and appeared to be a vertical bolt. all i had to do was bend the flap back down and unscrew ( it was a 14mm bolt, not 10 like the rest)
