Rear seat bottoms each have a 13mm bolt right in the middle kind of tucked up underneath that holds them in. Once you get the bottoms out, you can see where there is a tab at each lower corner of the seat that a stud from the seatback drops down through. Those 2 studs are held down by 13mm nuts. Take them off and lift the back out. For the carpet you will probably need to loosen the sail panel just slightly. After that its just a matter of pulling it up and out.

The center console? Open the lid and look for the 2 bolts that hold the "glovebox" to the lower part of the console right near the latch, and the other 2 bolts that are acutally down in the box itself. Take them out and then remove the box and lid as 1 piece. Get some torx bits and remove your radio trim piece and shifter plate as well. Oh yeah, your shifter **** will be in the way of the shifter plate. Use a flatblade screw driver to pry the staple out of the back of the shifter **** in that thin little slot, and then lift the shifter **** off the shifter. While you are at it, remove the cover from the ebrake handle too. There is 1 screw at the back. You are labeling your screws and bolts for reassembly right? Right.

Continuning on, you should now have the shifter plate, shifter ****, ebrake handle and radio trim all placed out of the way. Remove the 3-4 bolts holding the heater controls to the center console, as well as the 3-4 bolts holding the radio to the center console as well. Its probably easier just to remove the radio at this point than let it hang there in the way. Now, on either side of the center console, there is a 7/16"s (I believe. Maybe its 9/16"s. Whatever side the dashpad bolts/screws are) bolt that holds the console to the dash. Take them out. All thats left is removing the 3 or 4 large bolts that hold the crossbeams down. I believe there is 1 in the back underneath where the glovebox would be, 1 right by the shifter and 1 near the front. Take them out, and then all you have to do is wrestle the bitch out of there. It will take some playing around with the shifter and ebrake handle to get just the right angle to where you can lift the back end up on an angle, and then just slide the whole thing backwards. Whatever you do, take your time at this point, and learn from my mistake. I got impatient working in a cold garage and tried to give the console a few love taps to get it out, and it cracked on me. BE CAREFUL!

The forward side of the shifter handle (stereo side) down towards the bottom of the leather.....You'll see a small horizontal slit about 1/2 inch long. It's hidden pretty hidden.

Sounds like you have the round 8 ball type shift ****.In that case you must first remove the center button. It should just pull straight up and off. Then look inside and there is a c clip that is on top of the shaft. You will need to pop that clip off to remove the shift ****.I usually just insert a very thin flat blade screw driver and just snap it right out

It really doesnt weigh that much at all.I had recently replaced the entire console in my 86 Iroc cause the plastic radio mounts were broken off on one side.I found a nice tan carpeted lower console at the boneyard in an 86 sport coupe and grabbed the upper part complete with a working center console clock from an 82 Berlinetta that was sitting right next to the 86.It also had a like new center console pad on it.Got the entire console and a bunch of other stuff for 30.00....I was very happy that day
