Shifter plate
I have a quick question, I have the B&M rachet shifter, and my shifter plate is all busted right now so i wanted to purchase a new one but in doing so.... i was wondering if I bought the 5 speed shifter plate instead of the auto, would i work better so that i dont have to cut out the rectangle in the auto?
I hope that made sense.

Might, but good luck finding a 5 speed plate. AFAIK you can't buy them new anymore, and finding them used and in good shape is getting harder and harder.

Ive been looking at these http://jimmy-jams.tripod.com/3gcamarobmplates.htm , so I dont have to cut up the stock shifter plate.

For what the 5 speed plates cost, just cut up an auto plate. They're a dime a dozen.
Not sure for camaros but the main hole for an auo is located about and inch back from the front in the firebird 85-92 style when compared to a 5 spd, and you cant exactly move the shifter forward and back to accomodate for a manual
