question about cleaning interior materials...
so i scored at the junkyard today and got a headliner, sun visors and kick panels in this black felt type material. there aren't any stains on them, i was just wondering what i could use to clean them up a little, or i could just vacuum them probably.
i also got the metal holders for the front speakers (under the dash pad) and the little center piece. they look like they are aluminum, what could i polish these up with, it looks like a little rust is starting to form...
i got all of this plus some air vents and the dome fixture for $39...awesome...

DONT CLEAN YOUR HEADLINER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought my car with a perfect interior. Headliner was in perfect condition, then I decided to try and clean a spot off on the headliner. Well, it turned into a small sag, nothing big.... 6 months later the whole headliner is drooping.
Biggest mistake of my life. HUGE HUGE WARNING: DONT SPRAY ANYTHING ON YOUR HEADLINER, YOU WILL MORE THAN LIKELY DAMAGE THE ADHESIVE ON IT.

DON'T VACUUM THE HEADLINER
The title says it all... If you vacuum the headliner you will pull the fabric away from the glue and foam behind it. The whole thing will be in your eyes in a number of months... Best thing if it's not stained is to just brush it lightly with a softer bush if your trying to knock dirt off.
