Shift **** Beating me up!

I just bought a shift **** on ebay from a 90-92 Camaro and I have an '85 Z28. I know this question has been asked before, but how can I make it fit and work correctly. Is there a trick to make it work easy? THANKS

Take off the old one and install the new one.

I assume you have an automatic, your 85 has the round ball **** shifter right? and to put on the other style ****, you need to change the entire shifter assembly. the proper mount for the later style c-clip is not on your current shifter.

Yeah, it's an automatic. Do you know where I might be able to find the entire assembly? I looked on ebay, but without luck. Thanks.

Whoops. I thought you could mount either style on the same shaft.

Jim - I am still learning new stuff everyday too.

zrated57 - I am actually swapping out the other style shifter from my 88, to the round ball style eventually. When I finally get around to it ( I have had the parts for a few months ), I will check and see if you haven't already got one, I can send you mine for the cost of shipping.

MNformula350 Thank you very much, that would be great. If I can use the newer style shift **** from a 92 Z28 Camaro then I will take it for sure, because that's the **** I bought. Let me know when you have it ready and the cost. Thanks again. My e-mail is zrated57@hotmail.com.
