I'm sure there are quite a few threads about this but some of the things you'll need to take care of are the speedo. You've got a mechanical and the later birds have electrical. Should be easy as swapping out vehicle speed sensors though. Other than that a bunch of the connector wiring for the dash hook ups are different and things like window switches are mounted in the door.

do i need the plug to the gauges off of the fourth gen to make the gauges work or is there some other way to make them work for the dash swap?

your going to have to use the existing wireing in your car and splice into the connector that plugs into the 4th gen gauages, search around and theres some pics on the correct way to wire everything to work, i havent done it yet myself but i hear there may be issues with the speedo being correct. depends if your car has a cable driven speedo or vss. if your unsure or dont really want to get into the logistics of it all pick up a dakota digiat box to figure out the vss for you speedo.

i would sooner save my money and figure everything out, as well as others on this board, but the option is there for you. all the other guages will still have to be hand wired as i said, but it shouldnt be too difficult
