questions about fixing a demolished rear 1/4
hey guys i have a buddy with an iroc and he got into a little accident...i should say big accident. well either way his rear 1/4 panel on the passenger side is dented really bad.
I circled the area on an included picture that i stole from another board member just now.
ok i will try to get a better picture of the actual damage but i will explain it a lil as well. what really happened is he tail whipped into a older metal bumber bmw and it dented in that quarter pretty bad. it is to the point that with a passenger in the car the tire will scrape the rear 1/4 when hitting a bump.
I am looking for the best way to fix this. is the entire rear 1/4 replaceable? what is involved in that? is it possible to just cut out the bad section and weld in a good section froma junkyard or no?
please include your opinions.
Thanks
Louie

id buy a aftermarket repair panel cut out the damaged area. and replace. the whole car needs to be painted though. its a very VERY involved project doing a rear quarter panel. just for the fact that you can just unbolt it like a front, its all connected to the body.

unless your an auto body tech and its that bad dont bondo, will most likely crack flake and just plain suck metal repair it. if its the pass side i got a full quarter i will sell for 50$ i did the drivers side on my car about a week project for a couple of hours a day only! (if you know somewhat your doing)
