AC/HVAC Control Module removal??

1992 Camaro - How do I remove the AC/HVAC Control from the car? I can't pull it out as something is holding it in.. I assume it's that stiff cable? If so, how do I remove it?

On earlier models (my 85), there's a tab on the cable itself that pushes into the control head from the bottom and IIRC is released from the top (back left side).

helps if you take out the radio to get more clearance. Your gonna have to disconnect stuff from under and reach back. I beilieve once i removed the radio it came out a little further. There is metal rod that JamesC is talking about, but once you see how it disconnects its not hard at all. There are rivets holding vacumn plugs in the back also. I think like 4.

You mean you have to drill out the rivots and re-rivot?

no you dont have to drill any rivets. the vacuum harness will pull off the back. the module can be a pain to get out though, pull the radio and reach in from there. have fun, it sucks. why are you taken it out?

you might be able to reach in from the front of the console also if you have skinny arms like me. take the deadener panel off the pass side and look in there with a light.

You should be able to change the bulb without removing the control head.
