Adding fiberglass to the front bumper
Adding fiberglass to the front bumper
since the search is down. Is it possible to add fiberglass to the front bumper? Basically on the 85-90 trans am bumper, i want to get rid of the foglights and foglight holes. Should be do-able right? Without a chance of cracking?

since the bumper is made of urethane, it isnt' compatible with fiberglass. Sure you can apply it, and it might even look nice for a while, but eventually they will begin to flex and crack/separate. From what I've researched, it's difficult to do any repairs or modifications properly on our urethane bumper covers.

Urethane is not as hard to modify as it sounds.
Use proper urethane cement/glue and make sure its all set and aligned correctly.

Repairing can be as much work as modding. I'd say to go for it, I've repairing fiberglass with urethane bumper repair kits, and I've repairing urethane bumpers. I'd say you have a good shot at it looking good and lasting if you use the right materials.
