I have been busy!!!!!!!

[IMG][/IMG]
Hello guys and gals,
I first want to thank all the members on TGO for all the advice, help with technical problems, and all the guys who have given me great deals on hard to find parts. I bought an 85 Iroc this winter and have been gathering everything I need to do an interior swap. I went from Carmine Red to all Black and I have been busy these last couple of weekends. The most challenging was redoing the headliner, when I got it,the backing was cracked on the top and bottom and I went through my own process of reinforcing the board and it seems to have worked out well (time will tell) I want to share a few pics with you of the headliner, sun visors, and since I had enough material left over I decided to cover my center console, I needed to cover up the red carpet. I will post more as I advance on my project, any and all feedback is encouraged.
Thanks

Thanks for the compliment I installed the center console today, I found seat covers at Home Depot and floor mats at Pep Boys. I am waiting for a few more parts in the mail and I will post pics of everything I have done.

What did you use to cut out the holes for stuff in your headliner? I re-did mine earlier this winter and i thought my cuts came out horrrible, so bad I'm going to re-cover it again soon.

Old interior above.

I just used a razor blade and some scissors, here is a pic of the interior I removed. I got new seat covers and floor mats yesterday and she is going to the tint shop Friday.

Thanks alot JMJ,
This has been a busy weekend for me, I installed new hood hinges, installed the stereo system (got bose speakers for $5 from the JY, got the windows tinted 5%, got the door panels on, replaced the covering on my hatch privacy shade from cloth to vinyl, realigned and resealed the rear hatch metal piece, I also took my Z-28 Iroc badge from the dash, installed it on a dash mappocket and installed that, think it looks pretty cool, I installed my new shift ****, I am waiting on a few small parts to finish and I just need to polish the rims.

OK guys,
I hope you can handle a couple more pics. I got the fog light bezels and the head light bezels painted today, I got my new t-top bag in the mail all I am waiting on are the door panel plugs to cover the manual crank holes and the drivers side outer window sweep, and to install the seat bolt covers. I washed and waxed the car today so here are a couple of shots, and thanks for allowing me to share my swap with you all.

That's a great idea, do you know how much it would cost to have rims chromed?

I ran into a snag today, I was installing the passenger side pin and bushing and then the door panel. The door panels were torn off by the guy I bought them form and I have a big gap where the sill meets the door panel (scratched my new tint ). Do I replace the card board, fix them or buy new door panels? I also found a dash mat, wind shield emblem, black center console vents and the a-pillar clips today from the JY for $8.

Thanks for the compliments guys, my seat are actually in great condition I just covered them to protect them. The seat covers are comfortable and feel like a chrushed velvet, and yes the car gets very hot without ac (tops off is the best it gets)

looks good, mine will look kinda like that too when I'm done, cept I'm going to keep the sport coupe spoiler on the back (mid-rise, I think it looks ok). Course yours will be faster cause I don't plan on doing anything with the motor yet, though ironically your motor is very similair to the setup my friend had in his before he decided to completely redo it and add either a supercharger or a turbocharger

I also like that spoiler, it is one of a kind. I have one for sale but no bites, share some pics when you are finished with your project.

Should be done with everything cept for the motor by the end of summer, possibly sooner. Thomas from HoC has been a big help, bought a bunch of stuff today and am going to go back probably this weekend, if not next week.

For your rims, did you just clean them up or get them re-done?

The rims have not been polished or redone, actually I need to get to polishing them sometime. They are still in great shape for 21 years old, no curb rash etc, I just cleaned them with some comet and a scrub brush.

Now that my latest project is finished I am going to sell her and do another one, I got $2500 for my restored 82 SC with the iron duke, wonder what I will get for this one. I get bored with nothing to do, so time to sell the latest baby and get a new one.
