outer window sweep replacement

ok, so the jack*** who worked on my car must have not realized that my alarm system locks the doors on the car when you leave the key in the on position. looks like he used a slim jim or something and he chipped the drivers door sweep. to top it off I have to re-adjust the window because it comes up too far now. so my question is, once I get the inner door panels off, how do I remove the outer window sweep? do I need any special tools to get at it? is it screwed in? clipped in? I am probably smart enough to figure it out on my own, but always best to ask someone who has done it before to learn best method. thanks

It is all bolted in but you will have to remove the rubber piece that the front of the window seals up against first.

After you remove the black triangle at the front, loosen the fuzzies that hold the window out so that the window can tilt in toward the interior a little bit. That will give you enough room to get the screws out with a wrench. It's a piece of cake as long as you take the 30 seconds necessary to move the window in.

You will have to loosen the black triangle thing and the window to get it all in/out. You'll need a 7mm wrench to remove the bolts on the window sweep.

by door trim Im assuming you mean that black plastic piece that runs along the top of the door, and you'll have to remove it so you can get at the bolts to tilt the window in.

No you need to remove that with the door panel and make sure the window is all the way down.
