Jongbloed Hood Question

I did my research and received answers to quite a few questions I had about the hood. The only one I have left is for someone who has installed one of these hoods before. What type of setup does it take to have my airfilter completly raised into the cowl (since its a functioning hood). I'd like to see a major difference in performance seeing as how I plan on doing the hood, air intake manifold and a nice open filter at the same time. Looking for suggestions and people with more experience than me..

A friend of mine has it, as for installation it was easy only took about an hour and two guys. You gotta play with the setup to get it just right. He had a TBI with an air cleaner on it about two inch setup and I sat up in it nicely. As far as performance gains you wont see much. If you notice anything it will be in the higher speeds when you get alot of airflow, it will prob pull alittle harder up top.

I have the Jongbloed hood on my car now. Im running a regular K&N round filter ontop of a 650 holley w/ a 1inch spacer. The filter sits halfway up into the scoop. I would guess that I still have roughly an about 2inches to play with still.

the biggest benifit you get from the hood is the fact that you can run a performance intake manifold.... our cars have a very low hoodline, so you need that extra inch and a half of clearance when you swap to any PERFORMANCE intake....

You could also get one of those K&N Xtreme filter lids to take full advantage of the cowl.
