headliner removal & review mirror
I bought an interior rearview mirror which as map lights on the bottom.. a feature I really miss since all my other vehicles have this feature. This mirror has two wires which I believe I can tap into the same two wires going to the dome light, correct? This will let the map lights work when the door is open, when the interior light is turned on twisting the head light switch.. and when I flip the switch on the mirror itself. Am I correct in assuming this?
Ok hopefully I am correct on the above, secondly how can I pull down the front (windshield side) part of the headliner nicely/correctly so I can tap into the dome light wires? Ideally I'd like to be able to pull down the headliner enough to get in there to get the job done, but I'd like to be able to put it back without any sags or wrinkles, etc. Any tips, tricks?
Thanks!

I don't know about the wires, but the dome light is easy.
First: undo your battery..
Second: Unscrew your sunvisors on both sides and pull em off, this will allow you to give sag to the front so you can feed through the wires.
third: take off the domelight cover and the light..
fourth: Get a pair of needle nose pillars and unscrew the silver stems that poke down. Once you get those off take down the assembly for the light.
fifth: Get a snake.. and push it through to the front of the car towards the rearview mirror. (if you don't have a snake a wire coat hanger will do fine, in this case use a little tape to tape the wires on the hanger) then just pull the wires through.
Sixth: Connect em up and reverse your order, Replace your Dome light assembly, light, dome cover, sunvisors.. and so on.
I hope this helps.. And Make sure the battery is undone please,, you get one hell of a shick from the domelight.
