Finally, I got lucky at the JY!

Hi, I just got two forth gen leather, very dark grey (charcoal) seats with power baby!! for 50 bucks. They are in great condition. No rips, and the seats look almost new.

How did I do it?

I just dirtied them up a bunch with dry dirt and made them look like crap.
Than I took them in, and the guy was like "Man you got a **** load of cleaning to do". I was happy, and he said 50 for both!

Now I have bitching seats for 50 bucks.

Tommorow I hook up the power.

Yea baby.

I'll try to get pics up soon!

laters.

Good score!
I got a set of '91-'92 Trans Am/GTA two piece taillights for only $30.00 (for both) myself, not too long ago!
In perfect condition too!
And, a complete set of 15th Anniversary Trans Am Recaro seats, including the rears, for only $35.00 for all. This was quite awhile ago, like 10 years or so.

I have a rear seat compartment, so no rear seat.

That dirtying up thing is just on the surface. It works like a charm when youre on a budget.

I am getting a little camera tommorow so I'll post some pics. The seats look great.

The rear seat is removed, but I am yet to make the compartment. I took measurements and I cut some wood. Now, I am rethinking it, and wanna make the speaker box out of fiberglass.
I ran out of funds for a camera (I know). So, I'll try to get my friend to lend it to me. I am sorry to anyone who is expecting pictures from me. But, the tranny flush was a must today .

I will try to reply with pics as soon as possible.

Laters.

You might just want to remove the back seats and leave them out.I removed mine a while ago for some reason or another and couldn't think of a single reason to put them back in.Problem solved...

No you don't . I think since i am not a lucky guy I deserve this. These seats seemed to be from a late fourth gen. I was just too excited to look and figure it out.

Dang man! The only JY anywhere close to me that had ANY seats out of ANY f-body 1990 or newer had one pair one essentially new tan leather seats. Cost? 225.

And they aren't even black!

Nice deal!!

I wish I had that kind of luck. No JY nearby with any seats of that quality. I am stuck with surfing, e-bay, and the options I've chosen - recovering.

Good job you lucky dog!!

Awsome score hellraiser!They look bitchin!

The other day I was at the j/y and I saw a stripped 92 Z28.The only thing left was the cig lighter ,the one with yellow writing. It was mint.I grabbed it because it was the only thing left.I was disapointed I got to the 92 to late so I tossed the lighter to the ford section.I go on ebay later and those lighters sell for some cash for some reason

So one dishonesty breeds a second? Since this isn't a forum concerned with moral issues, I'll have done now.

Wow, you guys serious? I wasn't being disshonest! I just dirtied the seats to lower thier value. I came in before hand to ask how much would it cost for the pair of seats. They told me 100. So, with that in mind I went and got them. However, I dirtied them up and when I took them in, the guy who gave me the first quote was not there, and the other guy just glazed over and told me 50 for both.
I am starting to think that there might be some jelousy from some members here. When did you see my sub box?? WTF!

Hahahhahaha, yea I guess there is irony there. However, don't be sad that you did not think of ,dirtying anything to get a lower value, first. I am going to hell, acroding to these two guys.

Oh and I take it you probably pay for all of your screws and little duedads that you stuff in your pocket when you go to JY!
But, that wont send you to hell.

You gotta think about what you are acusing me of!

Your "intelligent money saving technique" is fraud: A deception deliberately practiced in order to secure unfair or unlawful gain. Humm. Ok, I really am done now. Happy Easter.

I like how every one of James C's 4 or 5 posts is his last one It is technically cheating the system, but if someone working at a junkyard can't tell the difference between torn destroyed seats and ones with some surface dirt, then tough luck. Junkyards know their prices are negotable. And now i'll just wait for James C's next last reply
