Custom Overhead Console
Has anyone made their own overhead console? I am thinking about doing this in my 89 iroc (did not come with an o.h.c.)
I got a factory console from the junkyard, and I want to use it as a template to make a fiberglass one because I want to put some gauges in it.
Anyone have photos or ideas to share?

Mine is not finished.... but some things of note...
My car has T-tops... urs doesn't...
I'm using a Knight Rider upper console... the Knight Rider dash has all functional gauges, but the only ones that provide ditigal readouts are the MPH and RPM. the rest are a bar graph... I am legally blind & since I don't want to be sticking my face up to the dash and trying to figure out a bar graph, I purchased some Cyberdyne digital gauges for my upper console. They all have number readouts, so now, I can look up and see all vital engine stuff @ a glance. I recommend these for 2 reasons. they are good quality & more importantly, they are all constructed on one single (thin for custom mounting) printed circuit board.
I am removing the gauges from the houseing and custom instlaling them in the upper console. I did buy one cheaper gauge from another company and it was 2 boards stacked together. Much taller. Not sure if you were going digital or analog, but just my 2 cents...
Oh, don't worry... I don't drive the car.. it does

I did the same thing I bought the knight rider overhead console unfinished with no holes and mounted it up there. I also have t top though if you can do fiber glassing it wouldnt be to hard to make it fit a hard top. I didnt want to have a bunch of switches for all the accessories all over so everything just went up there and it fits alot, I have 12 toggle switches plus 2 air pressure gauges for the air suspension and theres still plenty of room.

Note there are 2 main versions. One is bigger / bulkier than the other...
Here is a link from a guy in Europe that sells them too, of the smaller / sleeker version that I have.
Knight Passions - if you have the passion, we have the parts!
On th "Marks Custom Kits" page, there are 2 also, scrolll down near the end of the page to see the sleeker model.
