window motor replacement
hi guys. I'm new to the forum and looking for a little help. My passenger side window motor stopped working at the end of the season last year. the weather is finally starting to get nice here in michigan and i want to get it fixed so i don't look like an idiot driving around with t-tops off, one window down, and one up. what would be a reasonable price to pay to have a shop replace the window motor? i really don't have a clue and don't want to get ripped off. thanks

If you take it somewhere dont let them charge you more than 100$
A ro should be able to do it for 100$ or less including labor and material.
If you do it yourself its very easy,1st get a good working window motor either new or a good used one from the junkyard. Then take off your door panel, theres rivets holding them in so you need to drill them out.Have a buddy hold the window so it doesnt fall in the door.

just replace the brushes, that's usually the cause of the failure, if it's not the switch, save your $ from the motor.

I replaced my driver's motor last year. It took my 14 year old & I about 2 1/2 hours of mother/ son bonding, but was not to terribly difficult. I followed along in the Haynes manual.
Good Luck
