Pass. seat cover to drivers seat

My drivers seat has the usual wear rips and I was thinking of getting a passenger seat from a junk yard that matches and putting the seat covers on my drivers seat. Has anyone done this? Does it work?

Been there done that.
no need to change seat covers as the passenger seat pan has the bolt holes on both sides of the seat. I just poked a hole through the fabric and bolted the driverside power bracket to the passenger side seat pan and then installed in my car. Can't remember if the holes are treaded or not but the bolts are self threading. Trim pieces cover the old holes so noone will be the wiser.

The seat belt guide will be on the wrong side of the seat.

If you are talking about the seat back I used the driver side back and a passenger side seat pan so the guides remained on the proper side.
Thanks for pointing that out. I should have mentioned that.

Thanks for the replys. My drivers headrest is in good shape so I can swap that into the pass seat back so that the seat belt guide is on the right side,
