4th Gen dash swap anyone? *UPDATED*
Yes, another dash swap underway. After all my procrastinating I finally started to do this.

I am going to redo all the wiring for the new gauges and what not before I put the new dash in, but I cant wait to get it in and done.

*UPDATE*
I have a few more pics of my progress so far...
Wiring up the '00 gauges.

'00 gauges connector wired in. Including Class 2 Serial Data.

Testing the gauge cluster wiring.

The gauge cluster test. All the gauges work except for the Fuel Gauge, because I havent finished wiring it in yet, and the Speedometer because I havent plugges in the trans yet. Going to have to tune out the ABS, Brake and Air Bag warning lights.

This is the place where that pesky bracket used to be on the drivers side. Some choose to cut it, others choose to bend it... I chose to break it off. After a while of prying with a little pry bar, I got out the angle grinder and tried to grind the welds, I tore out a big chunk. I finally got it though and then I bent down that part that it was welded to.

That damn bracket.

After prying and grinding and prying, I finally got wise and drilled 3 little holes where the welds were on the bracket and the passenger side bracket fell off with ease. Wish I would have thought of this on the drivers side.

The passenger side bracket removed.

This side came off so much easier after drilling the holes.

Here is where I drilled the hole for the '00 Camaro dash's mounting bracket that didnt line up. All the others lined up so far except for the far drivers side which will take some "tweaking".

Some of the wiring got in the way so I had to take it off the metal braket that holds it under the dash and tuck it up around the heater box for now so the dash will clear better. I left the metal braket in, but it seems to be a restriction for the dash adjusting, so I may "tweak" that a little too, to get it to work better, I think it will work good to give me something to secure the bottom of the '00 Dash so its not rattling around when driving.

Test fitting the '00 Camaro dash. Its going to take a lot of adjusting to get it to fit right. Like "tweaking" that metal bracket to see if that helps. I am really picky with this so I really want to get the dash as centered as possible. I want it to look as stock as I can get it.

Close up of the ceter of the dash test fit. I dunno what I am going to do about the ducting just yet. I am AC/Heater delete so I dont know. I might want to use the vent though so I will see what I can do.

Test fitting the gauges. Damn they look good!

Test fitting on the drivers side. Again I am being really picky about the fitment and I want it as centered as I can get it. The metal braket hasnt seemed to cause a problem on this side yet.

Same issue with fitment on this side. Im not too happy, so I will be adjusting the centering better with a little more "tweaking". It does fit well with the door closed thought.

Drivers side with the door shut. Its a little tight over here, so again I need to adjust it better. Probably once I modify that metal bracket things will fit a lot better. Also notice that my mirror **** is hitting the side of the dash. I am definatly going to have to figure that out.

Thats all I have for now. I will post more as my progress continues.

gauges, head lights, power trunk, defrost, heating pod.
i read you dont need the metal piece from the old dash, you use the metal piece form the new dash.

I actually did not use the metal bracket from the '00 dash. I still have the metal braket from the old dash in. I am going to try a few modifications to get it to work better. Im talking about the bracket on the 3rd gen that NOT attached to the 3rd gen dash. Im talking about the one attached to the car that holds up the wiring.
Thanks for all the compliments guys.

I got the dash and gauges seperatly... I like the way that the gauges are broken up with a border like that on the T/A gauges... When I go with white faces it will look really good.

He has an LS1 and that makes the LS1 gauge cluster work. Assuming you're talking about knyghtmare. I should have added "unless you have an LS1"

Re: 4th Gen dash swap anyone?
I know this is an old thread, but I'm going to bump it anyways because it's one of the very few threads for a 4th gen dash swap with the pictures still intact, and I've been searching for days. Broken photo links are frustrating.
