Removing Headrests

Hello;

I've got an 87 Firebird with the cloth adjustable headrest seats. I'm looking to recover them with new upholstry but need to remove the headrest to slide the seat back cover on. What am I missing here? Has anyone done this before?

Thanks, Kyle

You need to get a thin strip of metal, as thin as possible as slide it down to be able to pull them out. Just lift up on the headrest and you when you slide it down you will fell it hit something, push through that, and it should release if I remember right.
