I just finished removing the headliner from my 88 T/A which has C&C t-tops. I am now wondering where to get a replacment or how to build one.

The backing material is all fibreglass and is mostly rotten. It is certainly not worth saving. I could however, lay it out on the floor and use it as a template to create a new backing for new fabric. What should I make the new backing out of?

From what I understand when I got one put in my car. They used the stock headliner. They cut and trim it....

You could probably make the new backing out of fiber glass again if you wanted. If that existing piece isnt terribly rotten, you should be able to use it as a mold still...cover it in aluminum tape or something similar and mold release wax the crap out of it. Should make a piece close enough to trim and refabric...

I was thinking of just getting a stock hardtop replacment and cutting it to match. Where would I get one of those?
