dash rattle

dash rattle

do any of you guys have that little dash rattle in ur cars?..if so you know how annoying it can be, any ideas on how to get rid of that?

Mine rattles sometimes but i think its the plastic covering that goes over the support arm for the roof. The bottom part of that plastic is loose and rubs against the dash pad.

I get a rattle from my stereo sometimes... it actually is the cowl plastic piece rattling.... other than that you can put some 1/16 ot 1/8" felt washers everywhere the dash is bolted to the car and such and that should take care of any noise from that. another common rattole is those plastic pieces that go over the doors... that do tend to rattle on the dash pad if they are not really on thier tight.

my freinds used to rattle like crazy then he got subframe connectors and now the car is pretty quiet inside. my car rattles like crazy if it isnt the dash its the windows for me..... pretty annoying!

yeah, are you sure its not more of a creak? that's taken care of by installing a stb..

yea its like a creaking sound, its from my friend leaning on it to get out of the car and i guess a pin broke or popped. anyways its annoying the hell out of me to no end...by the way stb? sorry for my lack of knowledge im new lol

Strut Tower Brace

I think 90firebird is talking about a strut tower brace, they tie the two strut towers together, some of the nice ones also tie the towers to the firewall.

they reduce the front end's shake and flex.
