well i was driving home and saw some seats sitting on the side of the road, i thoguht they looked pretty kool so i turned around and looked at them. they turned out to be full power Recaro seats in leather.

my question is how much are they worth?

restore them and they should be worth at least $1000 for the pair if not more.

They might be worth that, but i doubt anybody will ever give you that. For a seat tha expensive, you would have to have alot of money....and if you have that much, why not just buy new.

new is probably $1200+/seat.
non-power leather Recaros were $1000/seat for the ones I wanted.
looked like those above, but were made for a 4 point harness.

Those appear to be ergomeds, very nice seats! The frames on those seats are very strong so there definitely worth saving. I would contact Recaro about foam and switches to restore them and take them to an upulstry shop for a quote. $600-800 for restoration of a pair of top-of-the-line seats is a bargain in my book!!

I'd love to get a ride in the '81 one day. The stereophonic headrests are huge!

I hooked a battery up to them and everything works. I didn't test the seat warmer though because the leather was warm from the sun.

How much were these seats new? The prices I hear vary.

I wonder if they do carry parts for these seats anymore...

When I got them back in 1981, they were around $2,800 each!
Plus $100 for each seat bracket, and $199 for each stereophonic headrest!
I scored though, since Beverly Hills Motoring Acc., had they in their catalog for $100 each. We fought back and fourth for awhile, but I got the lower price.
I also paid $350 for the matching rear seat kit, and had to hogtie them on myself, but it wasn't too hard to do.
I later bought extra Spectrum material, and had my visors erdone to match. The material was around $350 or so for a yard!
I still have the Recaro catalogs and Beverly Hills Motoring catalogs from back then too.
I have more in the seats/visors than most people have in their car!
I am debating on installing the '74 455/auto into the '81, and having fun!
