auto shifter ****

hello fellow f-ers,

i'm trying to remove my automatic shifter **** on my 88 camaro v6. the shifter **** is the square type (not the round one). it looks like there is some kind of a tab i should depress on the front of the **** facing the radio, but i can't seem to get the thing to budge, if it's meant to move at all. i'm wondering if anyone from thirdgen.org has done this before for a similar type of shifter ****. let me know if you have any advice.

paul

hold on, in the same sentence you said "pull it out" and then "pry it out." well, which one is it, pull it out or pry it out?? to pull it out, i imagine i'd use pliers. to "pry it out," i'd use a screw driver.

It's just a clip holding it in, either pull it out or pry it out whatever is easier.

There is a staple clip in a slot on the radio side of the shift ****. Use a small flat head screwdriver to pry it out.
