PREP JOB
THE CAR HAD A VERY BAD BASE CLEAR PANT JOB I BLOCK SANDED MOST OF THE CAR WITH 180 & 320 USED NASON URETHANE PRIMER,DP 80 OR 90 DON'T REMEMBER # DUPONT BASE COLOR BLACK,THE CLEAR WAS UPOL, I NEVER USED UPOL BEFORE BUT A FRIEND SAID HE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT, I JUST DON'T KNOW IF I COULD GET AWAY SANDING WITH 800 & RECLEARING.OR IF IT'S GOT TO BE STRIPED

Ok, let's discuss the shrink...were the spots that shrank back in areas where you did some bodywork before YOUR paint? If not, were they areas that were shrunken on the old shabby job? I suspect the old poor job is your culprit. Definitely so if you slicked your body work into old paint. That's a huge no no.
Re-reading, I see that it was in feather-edge areas...apparently you did not prime over these breakthroughs? If not, did you seal? THe shrink is probably due to some one skimping on materials on the previous job... Probably lacquer primer under that old finish. If it is, it will continue to move under your paint. (especially under black.)
One more caveat, Never, NEVER mix and match materials. Why didn't you use Nason all the way through? That UPOL clear couldn't have saved you THAT much ca$h.
