Door locks wont lock with alarm
Alright, I don't know much about the insides of the doors, I'm an engine man, so be easy.
When I press lock on my keypad, you can hear the doors try to lock, but you can still pull up on the handle. The same thing happens when you use the door lock button inside. However, if you manually slide the lock switches back then it will fully lock.
Is the problem that the actuators are bad? Is something binding? Do I just clean them up and if so, what do I clean.
TIA

My passenger side was like this. I would have to press the lock/unlock button 2 or 3 times to get it to fully lock/unlock. I just cleaned up some of the linkage, works perfect.

there's a thing with these cars known as "lazy locks" the solenoids are grounded behind the driver side kick panel and they are held in with self tapping screws. Take the kick panel off and see if they move if they do then try tightening it up. In my case i had to go with a bigger screw to get it tight. you should notice an immediate difference. Then lube everything you can see I just hit most of the door with lithium grease.

remove your door latches and run them through a parts washer let them dry and then lube them up! I use regular motor oil or a 3n1 type oil works also
