I have changed the door handle on my 91 Regal. The rods do not seem to connect with anything. I am the least mechancial person. I can not seem to find any diagrams either of the door lock assembly (found that in hayes). I just want to be able to open the door. Can anyone help?

 

91 Regal? Not to bash but, this is a 3rd gen forum. Anway, I've had similar problems with a Camaro and my vette so, the Regal cant be too different.. if you have the interior door panel off and the door is closed, you're in luck. Where the rods attach to the lock cylinder, move the tab up or down. Try opennig the door. If the panel is back on... bad. You may need a slim jim or a good coat hanger to fish the locking tab.
