has anyone ever replaced one? a friend has a 91 GTA and the car has alot of potential. the one in the car now was beat up underneith and wont allow the rad to sit right and i happen to have one in a parts car that would do him justice.
i know the orig unit is spot welded but when we replace it what is required?

yea its beat up on the bottom so the rad sits funny. being it was smacked on the bottom this had an effect on the top as well, but it was from the rad. the rest of the frame around it is fine. all panels are stright, nose, hood, everything. you would think by describing the header panel the frame and all would be tweeked. but if you seen it you can understand all is healthy except the support.
after helping him fix his headlights, door handle and window motor hes going to keep it and put it back together. amazing how you feel about a car when certain things are broke and how those feelings change when fixed.

The way you describe it, sounds like the same situation that I had with my 87 IROC. Could not get the radiator to sit flat into the well, and the rad. cover wouldnt sit flat. Consequently, the intake ducting would not latch. The cure in my case was to spot weld studs onto the damaged area and pull the dent(s) with a slide hammer. Radiator sit's as it should, remove studs, add body filler and some paint. Fixed.
Hope it's as simple for you.
