My restoration project!!!!!

I am restoring an '87 IROC-Z. I bought the car on ebay in Indiana. I flew there and drove the car back to Texas with a stop on the Power Tour in St. Louis to join my dad ('69 Z-10 Pace Car Camaro, which he brought me home in from the hospital when I was born and my uncle '68 GTO 12.70 street car featured in the Feb. issue of Pontiac Performers Magazine in '05). I stopped and took pictures of the car at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and every state line I came across on the way home. Here is a list of the things I will be doing to this Camaro. Let me know what you think.

Engine:
350 tpi
12558060 vortec heads
vortec mainfold
218/224 comp cam
9.6:1 keith black silvolite dish pistons
roller lifters
custom ported plenum w/ slp runners
221b/hr injectors
hooker super comp headers
flowmaster street thunder exhaust
msd 6al box
custom computer chip

Transmission:
700r4
b&m shift kit
B&m ratchet shifter ( the one that fits in the factory console)

Suspension:
hotchkis strut tower brace
hotchkis lowering springs
spohn torque arm w/ driveshaft loop
spohn trailing arms w/ relocation brackets
spohn panhard bar
alston sub frame connectors
allnew polygraphite bushings for everything
g-max front and rear sway bars

Interior:
stock black

Paint:code 51 yellow gold (actual factory IROC color)

nitto tires
slp zr1 style wheels

This cowboy should fly.

Classic Industries Catalog page # 839.
Part # 223003
$169.95

This shifter bolts directly into your console, and comes with the factory style shift indicator.

oh wow looking good! Out of curiosity, how hard was it to remove everything from the engine bay like you did (wiring/A/C stuff etc )? I ask because a "friend" of mine is doing the exact same thing!! lol

It is not hard at all.You begin by disconnecting all of your wiring and labeling each connector. The wiring harness for the engine bay is a seperate harness. The harness connects to the computer on the right hand side inside the fender well. If you follow the harness back to the inside of the fender well, you will see a black connection point. This is a b*#%h to get apart, as it has a plastic coating on it that will have to be taken off before you can disconnect the harness. Once you get that stuff off, you are good to go. If you have any other questions, let me know.

ahh thanks. I (er um ...my friend lol) just removed the headlight/horn/accessory wiring harness. Moving to the computer harness soon. Most people just say "disconnect it". Thanks for the detailed description though! Really helps to know this kind of stuff ahead of time
